皇太子とヴァイニング夫人
東京武蔵小金井市の学習院中等科２年１組でエリザベス・Ｇ・ヴァイニング夫人の学期最後の授業があった。皇太子明仁親王とその他の生徒たちを教えている。
昭和２２年１月から皇太子の家庭教師を務めているヴァイニング夫人は、訪日前、クエーカーの団体であるアメリカ・フレンズ奉仕団の広報部で秘書補佐として働いていた。この組織は、日本の他、ヨーロッパとアジアの１０か国で救済復興プログラムを実行している。
