長い時間並んで配給を受け取る市民たち。列は４ブロックにも及んだ。写真の市民たちは長崎港の西側の工場地区の住民。配給は、１世帯の１人につき一握りの米。週に２回、米のほか少量の魚が付く。

Jap civilians receiving rations after waiting long hours in line that extended for four blocks. These people inhabit the factory district on the west side of Nagasaki harbor ration consist of one handful of rice per person in family. Two days a week a small portion of fish is added.
