長崎の警察。数台の自転車と１９３６年製シボレー（右奥）で任務を遂行する。海兵隊が長崎に進駐して以来、正規占領軍が上陸するまで警察の活動は縮小されている。「警察官」は短剣を帯びていることに注目。

NAGASAKI POLICE DEPARTMENT – With a few bicycles and a 1936 Chevrolet ( visible at left ) the local police department carries on, with activities curtailed since the Marines took over the city until regular occupation troops land. Note the short swords worn by the “cops”.
